The front page of the new “Reptilians’ Blog,” featuring the Honorable (Meuianga) Mera Te Aì 'Enge'ite, chief scientific officer of the Reptilian Starfleet. The posts of the Reptilian saga will be stored there, but they will continue appearing on the “Holobionts” blog.
You may have followed the Reptilian saga that I started last year. It is an attempt to find new methods of communication in the field of biology and ecology. I started with the idea of revisiting the fascinating work by Desmond Morris, “The Naked Ape,” but I thought I could enliven my ideas by having them presented by the “Lizard People” or “Reptilians,” one of the many weird ideas infesting the memesphere.
Weird, yes, but the concept that we are driven/guided/dominated by superior beings has fascinated us from humankind's earliest times. And, who knows, we can’t rule out that there may be something real in this idea. I would go as far as saying that I would be happy if it were true, because I can hardly see how Reptilians could be as evil as our leaders are, nowadays.
So, I created a few Reptilian characters, the main one being Mera Te Aì 'Enge'ite, (Mera, for her friends), chief scientific officer of the Reptilian Starfleet. Mera was supposed to be a teacher who recorded her classes about the biology and ecology of Earth’s naked apes, and in particular about the concept of “Holobiont.” But she became more than that. It is the magic of narrative that what you create soon takes a life of its own.
That was the case for Meuianga Mera, who became a fascinating character. Learned, intelligent, creative, and a little blasé. She has studied Earth’s naked apes (who call themselves “humans”) to the point of enjoying some of their habits, such as drinking a Bloody Mary on the side of the pool. Some even say she likes Earthlings so much that she has a human boyfriend, but she won’t admit that. A few other reptilian characters are appearing and developing — the magic of fiction.
The posts of the Reptilian series will continue appearing on the “Holobiont” blog, but they will be also stored in their specific blog. Maybe one day I’ll turn it into a full book. And the saga continues!
I noticed the hint about human-boyfriend in the last episode. It seems impractical to me...
